Snacking is a common issue found within all of our lives, so how do we beat it? Dealing with the urges to snack or graze throughout the day is like training with your instructor, you might think you have them beat, but in reality they are just waiting for you to slip up. So we must use our well-honed and creative Jiu Jitsu minds and think outside of the box on how to truly counter the urges of snacking. I am one of those annoying guys who is always attacking from inferior positions.  So by applying that mindset to the question of “How can I beat the urges of unhealthy snacking without eating boring foods that do not actually cure the hunger and in turn I end up eating an entire bag of almonds which is way too many.” I have concluded that to beat snacking you must let it in, embrace it, let it think it is winning but in reality you are setting up your own submission and are truly the one who will come out the victor. Long drawn out comparison short, the trick is to make the most delicious of snacks in a healthy way without compromising on the decadent taste.

The Revival

This is a reinvention of the classical “Puppy Chow” or “Muddy Buddy” that I am sure you have shoveled into your face at some point in your life. Essentially Chex cereal coated in melted chocolate and peanut butter that is tossed in powdered sugar….It is absolutely delicious but equally as horrible for you. So what we will be doing this week is instead replacing some ingredients with healthier options and adding in an extra protein punch to it. The result? Instead of having just a boat load of sugar you will be getting roughly 7 grams of protein per 1/4 cup of this awesome snack. Embrace the grazing.
