There are a few different types of people found in every gym, you have the die hard competition guys/gals, the people who would compete but always find a reason not to, the ones who love the art but have no interest in competitions and finally those who are there only because it is a fun and different exercise. It is 2014 and it seems every damn restaurant, deli, coffee shop or lemonade stand offers wraps of some sort these days. Don’t get me wrong, there’s nothing wrong with this but what there is something wrong with, is poorly constructed wraps. What a nightmare it is to be given what appears to be a nice and perfectly wrapped burrito or chipotle-chicken wrap just to find out it is a ticking time bomb set to go off the second you take your first bite. Horrible right? Well, who are you to judge? Are your wrapping skills up to par? And note I said wrapping not rapping, there are no correlations unless you are a rap artist who is deeply passionate about the state of wraps. Wouldn’t it be nice to always come home to a fridge full of different proteins, vegetables and starches that are all ready to eat within minutes? I sure as hell enjoy coming home to it after a rough class on the mats. The last thing I want to think of after work and training is “what do I have to cook tonight for dinner.” That’s right I said thinking so imagine how much less I want to actually do the doing. (Not doing the dew, I am not a neon-green-syrupy-beverage-chugging-extreme-sports-junkie) Because of this I always try and implement the practice of devoting Sunday to “bulk day.” This is when I go and get groceries, come right home, unbag them and start to slave over the hot stove.
